Inverness Cannery: Story from Sue Philippson-Madill

Inverness Cannery: Story from Sue Philippson-Madill
"When I was about 11 years old and living at North Pacific Cannery, the phone rang, us kids were not allowed to answer the house phone and I saw the panicked look on my dad's face.
He hung up and said "Inverness is on fire"
He jumped into his little green Datsun pickup and raced off. Kids from Port Ed had been there and whether it was intentional or not they burned down my favourite Cannery.
I would walk along the boardwalk with my dad the daffodils grew wild from days gone by. The little Cannery houses, abandoned but still with curtains in the windows. We would often walk along the tracks to get there"
